BBLTranslation participates in the 13th edition of the PortAventura Foundation Charity Dinner

BBL Translation

We asked ChatGPT to write a post for LinkedIn about our participation in the 13th edition of the PortAventura Foundation Charity Dinner at PortAventura Business & Events, held on 25 July 2024, but the application crashed and displayed an important message: “Very strong emotions want to be expressed; I haven’t been programmed for that yet.”

We “simply” wanted to express our immense gratitude for participating in the charity dinners since the Foundation’s inception; for continuing to be part, along with our team of Bibielle Global Translations SL, year after year, of the tireless work of many people and entities to improve the quality of life and social integration of groups at risk of social exclusion. In our case, we provided PortAventura Foundation with translations from Spanish to Catalan and translations from Catalan to Spanish, along with revisions in Spanish and Catalan of materials for the 13th Charity Dinner, such as the menu, the list of prizes, and communications for social media in English.

13th edition of the PortAventura Foundation Charity Dinner

This year, under the motto “Let’s Dream for a Better Future,” a record amount of €125,391 was raised, benefiting several foundations:

  1. The Casa Sant Josep Foundation (managed by the Xarxa Santa Tecla), dedicated to working in favour of children and adolescents in situations of risk or neglect. The new project by the organisation proposes creating a welcoming environment within the CRAE Sant Josep, resembling a home, to work with separated families and facilitate potential family reunification. In this space, parental skills will be enhanced and tools will be provided to address the causes of separation.
  2. The Centre for Continuing Education of the URV Foundation, which believes in the transformative power of education. To this end, they offer ongoing training for everyone in our society, with a focus on vulnerable groups and people with special needs, to improve their socio-economic prospects and, consequently, those of the entire community. The Centre has two key projects: INSERLAB and AMB-ÈXIT-ED. On one hand, INSERLAB focuses on educational inclusion and reducing social inequalities by helping young people with intellectual disabilities, developmental disorders, and autism overcome employment barriers through tailored training. On the other hand, AMB-ÈXIT-ED addresses the educational and social needs of young people who have been placed in care, providing academic support and resources to help them complete higher education, thereby improving their job prospects and social opportunities. The funds raised by the PortAventura Foundation will help enhance inclusion and opportunities for these vulnerable young people, promoting a fairer and more equitable society.
  3. PortAventura Foundation with the PortAventura Dreams Village project. This space welcomes families with ill children, completely free of charge, as part of their emotional recovery, in collaboration with three leading maternal and child hospitals: Hospital Sant Joan de Déu and Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona, and Hospital Universitario Niño Jesús in Madrid. PortAventura Dreams Village, which has just been expanded with 4 new villas, now has a total of 10 villas, allowing more than 400 families to be accommodated each year.

The three projects share a common goal of improving the quality of life for vulnerable children and adolescents, aiming to create a positive impact on society. This commitment is fully aligned with the purpose of the PortAventura Foundation.

In addition, we have had the pleasure of meeting incredible individuals with strong values, as well as being outstanding professionals, such as Laurent Colette (independent professional in marketing and sales), Urbano di Gropello (director of Invest for children, Investindustrial private equity fund foundation), and Jordi Rom (manager at Nàutic Parc Costa Daurada i Terres de l’Ebre), among others.

At BBLTranslation, we want to thank the entire PortAventura World team for their wholehearted commitment to the cause, consistently achieving excellence in all its forms.
