On 15 October 2024, PortAventura World celebrated the 7th edition of its “Dialogue with Suppliers” at the PortAventura Convention Centre. The event brought together more than 180 partner companies, with whom Choni Fernández, Paco Ballester and Joan Ramon Calanda shared the company’s most important strategic projects and plans for the future, in which they reviewed last season’s achievements.
At BBLTranslation, we believe that it’s very important for large companies to involve their suppliers, since involving the supply chain produces multiple benefits for both the company and the suppliers. Here are some examples:
- Improved collaboration and long-term relationships: including suppliers fosters a relationship based on cooperation and trust, facilitating a greater mutual understanding of the needs and expectations, and thus creating stronger and longer-lasting relationships.
- Innovation and joint development: suppliers can provide innovative ideas or improvements on products or processes. By working together, it’s possible to come up with more creative and efficient solutions, benefitting both parties.
- Efficiency in the supply chain: involving suppliers in planning and decision making helps to optimise the supply chain. Sharing key information, such as demand forecasts or production schedules, can reduce waste, improve delivery times and increase operational efficiency.
- Product quality and consistency: a supplier that’s committed and aligned with the company’s standards is more inclined to provide quality products or services. This is key for maintaining consistency in delivering value to the end customer.
- Sustainability and social responsibility: involving suppliers in sustainability and ethical practices initiatives helps to ensure that the whole value chain complies with environmental, social and employment regulations. This, in turn, improves the company’s reputation and reduces risks.
In this area specifically, BBLTranslation was one of the suppliers that successfully completed the second “Sustainable suppliers” training programme, a joint initiative made by UN Global Compact Spain, the Fundación ICO and ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones. BBLTranslation was able to participate in the programme thanks to PortAventura World driving this initiative. The programme’s key points to takeaway consisted of the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and corporate sustainability.
Joan Ramon Calanda, director of Finance and Corporate Services at PortAventura World, stated that “collaboration with suppliers is essential to achieve our business and sustainability goals, and these awards are intended to express our deepest gratitude for their commitment and dedication. Gatherings such as this one give us the opportunity to create dialogues that allow us to move forward together towards a future in which quality, innovation and sustainability are key.”
With “PortAventura Dialogues”, the resort seeks to improve its transparency and strengthen relations with main stakeholders, aiming to make a positive impact in its business ecosystem as one of the main economic drivers in the area.
In addition, the event included a speech by Javier Molero Segovia, director of projects and 2030 Agenda for UN Global Compact Spain, with his presentation “The Road to Business Sustainability”.
BBLTranslation is extremely proud to have participated in the 7th edition of PortAventura World’s “Dialogue with Suppliers”. We want to express our sincerest appreciation to the company for its ongoing commitment to training and developing a sustainable supply chain which not only promotes efficiency, but also encourages respect for the environment and social responsibility. This collaboration reaffirms the importance of building strong, long-lasting relationships between companies and their suppliers, which share the same goal of advancing towards a more sustainable and responsible future.
