BBLTranslation at FITUR 2025: translations for tourism and theme parks

BBL Translation

At BBLTranslation, we are always on the lookout for events and celebrations that mark milestones for the tourism and theme parks industry. This time, we are pleased to share our experience at FITUR 2025, where we had the privilege of boarding a very special surprise brought directly from PortAventura World, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary: the original car from the iconic Dragon Khan.

PortAventura and its impact on the tourism industry

PortAventura World is not only one of the most iconic theme parks in Europe, but also a leader in the global tourism industry. During FITUR 2025, the park paid a memorable tribute, bringing to its stand car 7 of the legendary Dragon Khan, a ride that has provided visitors with adrenaline and excitement since its opening in 1995.

The aim was to commemorate an historic moment: at the opening of PortAventura, on 1 May 1995, the president of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Jordi Pujol, rode Dragon Khan with other members of the Catalan government. In this edition of FITUR, the current president, Salvador Illa, was invited to recreate this iconic image, together with Arturo Mas-Sardá, chairman of PortAventura’s board of directors.

An emotional success

The car’s appearance at FITUR created a buzz among attendees, who crowded around the stand waiting for their turn to get a photo with the iconic car in the background. This event not only paid homage to the history of the park, but also provided an opportunity to reflect on the impact that PortAventura has on the tourism industry, with its presence at FITUR highlighting the importance of sustainability, innovation and entertainment in Catalonia’s tourism scene.

For BBLTranslation, as an agency that specialises in tourism and theme park translations, this type of event gives us an excellent opportunity to strengthen our commitment to the tourism and leisure industry. A key aspect of our work is communicating effectively in multiple languages, ensuring that visitor’s experiences are inclusive and accessible. In such a competitive environment, like the tourism industry, it is essential to accurately translate promotional materials, information leaflets, and signs within theme parks so that visitors can fully enjoy their experience, irrespective of their language.

The importance of translation in international tourism
PortAventura World is continuing to evolve and is preparing to welcome millions of visitors in its upcoming season which will begin on 1 March 2025. After FITUR, car 7 of Dragon Khan will return to the Costa Daurada to be repainted and prepared for a new season full of fun and adventure. This constant renovation is what allows PortAventura to maintain its status as a leader in the attractions industry.

At BBLTranslation, we know that the future of tourism is international. The globalisation of leisure and the growing diversity in visitors from all over the world require companies in the sector, such as PortAventura, to rely on quality translations and linguistic adaptations. Whether it’s advertising campaigns, mobile apps or park signs, every detail counts in order to provide all visitors with a complete and accessible experience, irrespective of their language and culture.

Commitment to innovation and sustainability

PortAventura not only stands out for its rides, but also for its commitment to sustainability, an increasingly important issue in the tourism sector. At BBLTranslation, we are committed to this same value: providing language solutions that help promote sustainability in all forms. Through our accurate and culturally adapted translations, we support our clients in getting their sustainability messages across clearly to international audiences.

Conclusion

Visiting the PortAventura stand at FITUR 2025 reminded us once again of the importance of translation in the global tourism industry. At an event where tourism and entertainment go hand in hand, like they do in theme parks, being able to communicate in multiple languages is essential in order to connect with audiences from around the world. At BBLTranslation, we are proud to be a strategic partner for theme parks and other tourism-based companies looking to take their experiences to the next level, ensuring that messages to their visitors are delivered in an accurate and empathetic manner.
