BBLTranslation: uniting cultures through gastronomy translation
As a translation agency specialising in gastronomy, at BBLTranslation we had the honour of participating at this prestigious gala, reaffirming our commitment to spreading and promoting Catalan cuisine internationally.
We are convinced that translation plays a key role in the globalisation of gastronomy, by allowing chefs, restaurants and businesses in the industry to share their creations beyond borders. Our mission is to ensure that the message, essence and authenticity of Catalan cuisine reaches all corners of the world with the same passion with which the dishes are prepared.
During the event, our founder and director, Barbara Beatrice Lavitola, had the honour of meeting Carme Ruscalleda, the first female chef to receive three Michelin stars. It was a special moment which highlighted the importance of female talent in gastronomy and the connection between the culinary tradition and its global expansion through translation.
Our specialised gastronomy translation services
Translation in the food industry presents unique challenges: it’s not just about translating words, but conveying the experience, cultural nuances and culinary specificities of each country. At BBLTranslation, we have a team of highly specialised professionals in:
Menu translation
Restaurant menus are some of the most complex documents to translate. Each ingredient, culinary technique and description of the dish must retain its essence and be understandable to diners from different cultures. At BBLTranslation, we help restaurants to adapt their menus to foreign markets, ensuring that our international clients have a complete dining experience without linguistic barriers.
Food label translation and regulatory compliance
The food industry is subject to strict international regulations regarding product labelling. At BBLTranslation, we specialise in food labelling translation, especially in the dairy sector, ensuring that they comply with the specific regulations of each country. Our team is made up of expert translators in food safety and nutrition, which ensure that the product’s information is clear, accurate and complies with the legal requirements in different markets.
Digital content and food marketing translation
An online presence is fundamental for any food business looking to expand globally. We offer translation services on websites, social media, promotional material, and press releases, helping brands and restaurants to connect with international audiences and convey their culinary identity effectively.
Supporting the internationalisation of Catalan gastronomy
At BBLTranslation, we support chefs, restaurants and businesses in the food industry looking to expand their presence beyond borders. We believe that the Catalan culinary tradition deserves to be recognised and enjoyed across the globe and we are working to make this connection between cultures possible through accurate, culturally adapted, and high-quality translations.
We are grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the Cata Mayor Awards gala 2025, an event that reminds us of the enormous talent and dedication of the professionals who make Catalan gastronomy shine.
Let’s toast with a taste of Vermujito to recognising gastronomic talent and remember that menus are the most difficult to translate!
